George explores & implements TIMING SCIENCE MANTRA

In this 1-to-1 cricket coaching session with George, we focused on reintroducing him to the core concept of batting timing science, not just the mechanics, but the meaning and purpose behind the mantra. This was George’s first session back after a six-month break, so the priority was to get him into a steady batting rhythm without overwhelming him early on.

As the session progressed, we naturally arrived at the perfect coaching moment—he mistimed a ball. Rather than correcting immediately, we used this opportunity to dive into why it happened. We discussed the principle of allowing the ball to pitch before moving the hands, rather than committing too early. George’s most consistent issue was moving his hands too soon, which led to him chasing the ball and playing his shots too early in its trajectory.

Once he understood this key concept, something clicked. It was a genuine light bulb moment for him. He began to wait longer, allowing the ball to come closer to his body before initiating his shot. This small shift resulted in significantly improved timing and a more controlled, powerful contact. By waiting, he also allowed for a natural weight transfer through the ball, improving balance and follow-through.

We used Full Track AI feedback to reinforce these improvements visually, which gave George confidence that he was making real progress. His timing metrics showed a clear upward trend throughout the session.

Overall, this was George’s most important session to date. He didn’t just hit the ball better; he understood why it was happening. That deeper awareness of timing science will form the foundation of his batting going forward, and it’s a huge step in his development as a technically sound and mentally strong batter.
